Leo
The Maremma – A Pastoral Breed From Italy
Project Description
I spent the morning with Leo the Maremma and his owner Jae. We walked in the park, worked on heeling and recall and, perhaps most importantly, reactivity to other dogs. He was pretty relaxed and did really well. A previous trainer described him as “untrainable”, turns out he’s a bit of a star. He’s a young bouncy dog so there’s still lots to do, but it’s the right time to do it. He’ll be a peaceful relaxed dog in no time. Well done to Jae for looking for help and for sticking with it in a fast-paced session. And for anyone who thinks that livestock guardians can’t make good pets, watch this space..
